Ok so this is involving the Tentacle add 'Mutated Corruption' present on every platform; And it's ability 'Crush', where it (If I understand it's intended Mechanics properly) picks a random raid member and does a cleave type attack to everybody in-line with the target and the add.


What I have noticed, and tested as far as I can, is that if the tank stands in a particular place while tanking the add, that the Crush ability will only target the tank, and nobody else. ( I believed it wasn't targeting anybody at all to begin with as the damage is so small it seems negligible on the tank, but apparently it IS hitting the tank.)


That particular place is to the furthest away from the centre of the fight (ie. away from DW) as you can.) But I have only seen this work when the Mut. Corruption has Spawnd to the left (when facing away from DW).I have also only (To my memory) Seen it work on the Bronze and Blue Platforms.


SS of Positioning.


Our tank was seemingly doing it by accident and he wasn't standing extremely on the edge so I'm not sure how big the 'sweet spot' is. Every platforms model is slightly different too so you may have to try some slightly different spots.


The whole reason I'm basing it on the positioning, is that while this bug was 'working' on the Blue platform, out bear tank moved back towards the centre for a few seconds, and the ability began to work again as intended.


The only place where this comes in handy really is when you have to take a Bolt without the slowing buff (Bronze Platform Down) and so the entire raid is quite low, and you risk them being targeted by Crush and dieing, although it way have implications for the hc mode, ( I have no idea of any tacs etc).



And Lastly! This was performed on 10 man normal difficulty, with a Bear tank.


Haven't had a chance to test it further, on the other 2 platforms, or when the Add spawns towards the other side etc., yet, but I thought I'd post this here and see if anybody else can replicate these results.

Thanks for this, going to test it with my guild later. The encounter is faceroll on normal but anything that can reduce the raid damage helps.

Did some more positioning and got it to work on the green platform with the Tent. on the right.

Yet to see it work on the Red platform though !

Notice the tank positioning and listen to the video. He mentions where to position the tentacle thing because it has a front so it can be tanked to only face one direction and not hit the raid. And as always the video was made during the PTR.

Even Lazy leechers knows about this. L2R or Tankspot are commonly known sites for strats. If you didn't know about this then it shows you don't raid much.

Thanks for the link but as there is nothing here on ownedcore about it I'm sure it helped a few people at least.

People like me who doesn't really use other resources like LFR / TSpot alot :3 (Progressing on 8/8 norm atm, dunno if that says I don't raid alot but meh, you can has your opinions o/ )
