WoW 7th Anniversary Gift Exploit

Alright. Everyone who loggs in during the 7th WoW anniversary gets a tabard mailed to him.It says that it gives 7% exp and rep gains from kills.Though i noticed that i receive bonus xp also for finding archaeology fragments. This could be useful for anyone like myself, leveling a toon with ArchaeologyBuddy or via archaeology.

^^ this is a theory unless proven otherwise. Also the tabard comes in a goody bag and applies a visual only effect, not a buff. Also the 7% XP comes from blizz not the tabard and is only available to players on the anniversary week until Dec. 3 AFAIK. (7% buff, 7th anniversary.)

No it's not a theory i tested it both with and without the buff. I do get the 7% xp bonus. The goodie bag you're talking about actually gives a buff with 7% and that viasual only tabard, so whatever it is exploit or a find, the tooltip still clearly says that you only get the bonus from kills.

Archaeology works like kills. It gains a bonus from rested too. But.. Maybe it's a little exploit, not very great, but I think this isn't really intended. So you'll get +1 rep from me for ths one.

At least he's attempting to contribute. But sadly it seems most have come to think that using an item for something not explicitly outlined in its tooltip is an exploit.

Well i can't say if it's a tooltip error or blizzard actually wanted it to work only for kills, but it still remains a small exploit or a trick.

would just like to point out that it is NOT a tabard. it's just a normal item you keep/use in/from your bags.

1: OP said he tested it. testing = not theroy.

2: 7th anniversary item buffs you with the exp/rep buff, and the visual thing.

You get a visual tabard if you use the item.

As a little aside to this: It also works with Rep! If you're going for any Wrath of the Lich King reps especially, the marks you can buy in Dalaran award 572 rep each with this buff up (Intended rep gain is 520, assuming it stacks with guildperks etc as well) Not a big exploit but saves some JP / time :>
