Queue for dungeon without minimum ilvl

So basically I used BG's to gain XP until I got honor capped and started questing and once I hit 80 I didn't have the gear to queue for cata dungeons because of various BOA gear and not actually questing.

So I found you can purchase honor gear like cloak and helm, queue for the dungeon and sell it back to the vendor and remain in the queue without losing your honor.

This is old, but another trick is getting items from quests that you can't use and just hold onto them. Though being in full greens in a Heroic can get pretty laughable at times.

My DK faked up to Zandalari level heroics for better gear.

i might not be the top DPS, but i keep up with fail casuals, and i know the mechanics.

go troll mmo-champ and the official forums regarding stuff like this. this is a forum for finding and abusing bugs, such as this one.

So if you're level 82 and you have the boa helm and cloak which are equivilant to the same level blues but have an item level of 1 how exactly is that a negative impact on your dps?

this is for heroics at 85. the BOA helms dont have meta gem slots, and are not enchantable. they also can not be regorged.

best thing is to keep a helm and cloak in your backpack with the highest Ilvl you can find, this will help you bypass the Ilvl loss from the BoA useage.

Ehh... This could go either way. On one hand, personal gain for the exploiter. On the other hand it kills QoL of people that have to carry the scrub. Then again, there are also "exploits" that involve crashing the entire server, and for some reason, people that post these "exploits" are praised.

My opinion is, if you browse these forums, don't be prejudice about any kind of exploit. It's only to be expected that anything goes. While I wouldn't use any exploit myself, since I frequent these forums I think it would be hypocritical to condemn any kind of exploit, regardless of what it is.

While partially true, not everything is allowed here either, like exploits involving GMs and I think "scams" aren't either, so i don't think all exploits are equal.

Either way I don't think this ilvl boosting is bad at all, and pugs don't fail cause of undergeared ppl but cause of ppl who don't know how to play or /leave cause they want everyone to be overgeared cause they only care about fast VP/loot.
