Using guild repairs to steal massive amounts of gold.

Me and my friends came upon this nifty exploit by accident and used it to take over 125,000G from a guild bank without them even knowing it.

First thing you have to do is use the guild repairs feature, don't repair too much because you need to have money left over that you can withdraw from the guild bank.

The next thing you are going to want to do is head over to your guild bank. Withdraw the nearly the full amount alloted for the day (if your guild does guild repairs you are allowed to remove the gold from the guild bank for repairs) we took all but one gold effectively putting our daily withdrawal into the negative for the day.

After the gold is successfully looted log out, then log back in. You should be able to take another nearly full amount of gold.

Rinse and repeat.

Please elaborate, and add pictures. With what you've posted it isn't clear to me how you're actually extracting gold from the guild bank for personal use.

Ok, I don't think this is entirely accurate... let me explain. Basically what you are referring to is having the option to withdraw gold... Not quire just using repairs. So, the way it works, is "IF" you have BOTH the option to withdraw gold and to repair, as given by the Guild Master to your rank, then they share from the same amount of alloted gold of your daily limit. If say your guild master gives you a 200g daily limit to repair, then also puts a check in the box that you can withdraw gold, this DOES NOT mean that you can withdraw 200g AND get 200g repair, totalling 400g. This means that if you withdraw 200g, then you will no longer be able to use the guild repair that day, or vice-versa.

So, from what it sounds like to me, your guild leader has given you the ability to withdraw a large amount of gold each day on top of repairing, and you are using the long known bug of getting out of the guild bank more than your allotted amount from the good old relogging trick, and this is not really being able to use guild repairs to get massive amounts of gold. You say, and I quote, "if your guild does guild repairs you are allowed to remove the gold from the guild bank for repairs." Actually the guild bank doesn't allow the repair amount to be withdrawn from the guild unless you actually have option to take gold out as well. If you ONLY have the option to repair, there is no way to remove that gold unless yo uactually repair.

Anyway... sounds like a clueless GM or one that made a mistake lol

Careful though, while technically your guild cannot claim the gold they give you on alloted daily removal amount cause of your GMs stupidity, if Blizz checks the logs and sees that you have removed a lot of gold several times a day above what your alloted amount is, then it is clear you were exploiting and you will get the big Ban Hammer.

Your title is a bit missleading , being able to repair your gear using guild repairs and being able to WITHDRAW "X" amount of gold are 2 different things. A few things::

1) You must be granted the permission to withdraw gold from your bank NOT to be confused with being allowed to repair your gear

2) You must be allowed to withdraw "MASSIVE" amounts of gold to begin with. Im in one of the top 3 guilds on my server and the OFFICERS who have been there for YEARS can only withdraw 500g per day. Which kind of brins us back to the "BEING GRANTED PERMISSION".

3)The guild bank has to have that kind of gold available and most dont.

6) Last but certainly not least, have you heard of a MONEY LOG? They will know exactly who took how much, and when.

So lets recap::

IF (huge if) you're granted permission to withdraw an unlimited amount of gold in your guild and your guild has said gold, steal it! <== This is what the exploit says. Its not really an exploit its just the ability to withdraw gold >.>

The combination of withdrawing monwy from the guild bank and repairing from the guild bank would only make sense if you withdraw some money first and then flood the money log with small repairs until your withdrawal can't be seen any more. In the time you will need for that you could have earned much more gold by doing some serious business.
