    Rogue: Stack Subtlety spec Mastery

As seen in this post: Assassination Guide for Cata - Page 14 - Elitist Jerks

    1. Spec Subtlety, you must have Honor Among Thieves. Improved Slice and Dice and Slice and Dice glyph is strongly recommended.

    2. Ask healers to crit heal so you get 5x combo points on a target.

    3. Pop Slice and Dice then change spec, ideally into Assassination.

    4. So long as you don't drop the Slice and Dice buff, you'll have the Subtlety mastery (it's linked with the initial Slice and Dice buff)

tl;dr - You get 2 trees worth of Masteries.

[e] Also suggested to get 2 piece Tier 6 if you have it. Else it's not a huge deal.

Mastery bonus is linked with buff, buff does not get re-applied.

So due to Assassination "Cut to the Chase", if the buff does not drop, but get's refreshed, you get 2x Mastery bonus from 2x trees.

Based on that post, and the following posts, not only is it confirmed, it is definitely an exploit.

He also recommends putting on 2pc tier 6, for an additional 5% haste

If you have the 2piece, don't forget to change equipment after popping SnD.

This is a great exploit! If only my rogue were a respectable level...

Most people probably won't bother with this exploit except for those pushing for server firsts.

It doesn't work for me. I also rechecked EJs comment about that "theory", but in the end i cannot confirm that exploit.

Are there any other reports about it?

this same type of bug applies to recuperate and 3/3 energetic recovery and 2/2 deadly momentum

get a recup going, (giving 12 energy per tick) as sub, swap to assassination with 2/2 deadly momentum.. and you'll continue regening 12 energy as long as you kill something fast enough, with a mutilate spec.

not as practical for raids but for leveling it was very useful

edit: works with imp recuperate as well

So after some testing I'm thinking HAT is bugged. We were able to get the points from critical attacks against unfriendly mobs and not by healing.

I can confirm the SND works. Rogue had 1814 mastery and a 57% snd in assasination.

Recuperate did not allow us to over write the better ticking recup with imp recup. We then tested without imp recup and it allowed us to re-write the buff but the bonus did not stay on the re-application.

keeping the sublety recuperate only works if you refresh it via deadly momentum.. basically only somewhere where you kill mobs quickly, like questing
