Creative use of mechanics for Chimaeron heroic

Harkening back to the OS3D days, we just did Heroic Chimaeron with a warlock pet tank for the double attacks.

When the boss gains the Double Attack buff our warlock pet tank would taunt the boss negating that part of the encounter. The pets taunt worked like a true taunt as far as we saw. When melee got too close to the pet with caustic slime there was a chance the pet could potentially miss the taunt resulting in a tank having to eat it.

Or you could just use the far better idea of hunters using their tenacity pet intervene. You only need to intervene the double strike during the fued and have the offtank (with 4 stacks of break) use a CD (such as ardent defender or external such as GS) for the 1st double strike after the fued. Or ofcourse you could always just intervene that too but the pet will need a res every time resulting in lower dps etc etc.

On a side note, worth me posting how to get into Sinestra's room without killing a single boss? :\ pretty pointless imo but meh!

I thought in one of the patch notes, they took out pet tanking in raids?

They changed how it worked back after we killed OS3d with a warlock pet, but this method still works fantastic though.

I believe it was changes to the talents that allowed the warlock in wrath to reach 80-90k hp on their pet. But the mechanic that you are creatively dealing with is a % attack I believe? GG being a spriest and not tanking.

Voidwalkers/pets dont gain the machine buff meaning it dies after each double strike, it's not that practical to keep resummoning a voidwalker to eat double strike
