(Nearly) All DoTs innately crit now, this includes Serpent Sting. This was a major reported change in patch 4, so your set bonus from T9 currently doesn't do anything. However removing the gear helps to lower the crit level, which would help.
Using the Explosive Trap method seems to work best tho.
An easier method came out thats posted on petopia
Step 1: Find a pet with a buff you like.
Step 2: Trigger the pet's appearance change, if necessary.
Step 3: Tame Beast, and spam the following macro as the tame completes: /script PetAbandon()
Step 4: If it went well, the pet will be gone, but you will "already have an active summon" when you attempt to retame another. Relog, and your new shiny pet will be there.
Step 5: NEVER let it die >.> Also, do NOT die, yourself, while the pet is out. I have confirmed that this will also wipe the pet's buffs.

I know that if u look on petopia u will find out which pets can be permanant which include Consumed Thistle Bear Oily Wolf/Hawk, Ghost Carrion Bird, Flaming Boar
Apparently the macro option for this exploit has been officially fixed. Anyone able to do the old method still? I'm trying it.
Isn't this the same as the exploit ages ago with the freezing trap and tactical timing of the tame beast?
