Use your alts vendor mammoth and portals

I figured this out earlier while farming Uldum and needed to repair. I had brought my alt there earlier that had vendor mammoth.

Here are the steps:

1. Move your main and alt to same spot.
2. Log-in your main with vendor mammoth and mount up
3. Open second WoW instance (recommend to use windowed-mode and reduced resolution)
4. Log-in to your account again and this time sign on your alt
5. Your main should still be mounted with vendors available.

I have used this same method to open portals for my alts. Only trick here is that you have to first group them together by having a second person invite both your main and alt. Enjoy ;o)

Actually the other day I tried using this method with my mage portals, however it wouldn't allow me to use the portal I had created for myself (and yes I was grouped)

I can't speak for the vendors, but I don't believe this is working anymore with mage portals.

I don't have a mage anymore to test with so might not be working anymore. I did test with vendor mammoth earlier today.

As far as i know is the mage portal thing fixed. I used to do this with my main char all the time when i wanted to save time with traveling.
Made sure someone else was in my group who invited my main char and my mage char, go to the same spot, make portal with mage log back onto main char and use portal. I tried this 3 day's ago and did not allow my char to use my mages portal.

OT: So this does work? can anyone confirm, i dont have my mamoth yet.

The mage portal has been fixed on EU atleast, I used to make portals for my alts aswell to travel faster, however after the invasion event it no longer seems to work.

Just used this for mage portal and it worked fine on US.

Tried the mage portal thing and it didnt work during the Pilgrim event, not sure if it works after today. The mammoth one I cant test because I dont own, nor do I want a vendor mammoth.

In a separate thread it was mentioned you have to be in a raid group to use portals for your alts now. I cannot test it myself as my mage was banned years ago and never did bother to re-roll one =P. Often the tricky part is getting signed on your alt before the portal disappears which is why I recommended reducing resolution and using windowed mode (especially for those on slower computers).
