Transfering characters to different accounts regardless of last name.

Sorry if this is in the wrong place.

I know this isn't anything new and most people will probably know this anyway, but I've told this to a few friends and other people they never knew so I'll just say it here.

If like me you've had friends who've quit the game and given you their account, (you can unconnect accounts to battlenet by contacting Blizzard via email (you'd have to ask your friend to do this) and they'll do it for you), then simply connect it to your own battlenet account, as long as 2 accounts have been connected to the same battlenet for over 1 month then you can transfer characters from 1 account to the other regardless of the details of either account.

I've transfered about 4 characters from 3 different accounts to my own account.

I didnt know this either, but it's also not really an exploit. It's working as intended so it's more of a guide really.

Not working as intended imho. Blizzard specifically states no transfering between people, and accounts must have the same contact info to transfer. If you can transfer between them, then this is a definate win.

So, what do you need to unconnect an account? I have another Battle.net account with 2 linked wow accounts, and i want both of them to my main Battle.net account, i dont have the CD key to them, but SQ.

This is very similar to when BNET accounts were optional. You could link any account (with any name) to a BNET account that had your first/last name. Then after 30 days, you could transfer characters between accounts. What the OP is saying, is that you can contact Blizzard (phone or email) and have the account unlinked with its BNET account. You will need to have some sort of excuse probably. Say that you want to have one login/password or whatever. They will at least require first/last name and the Secret Q/A. They may ask for CD Keys or ID scan as well. Once the account is unlinked, you can then reattach the account to your BNET account or another BNET account with whatever name you want.

Blizzard is aware of the fact that this is possible, I have contacted them once about it because I wasn't sure if that was really the way how it's supposed to be and what they said is because some people put invalid information, they want to fix that via BNET accounts, where they assumed that players used their real live information. Also, the fact that you need to wait a whole month is their method for anti scamming/hacking possibilities. You can attach a scammed/hacked account and attach it to your battlenet account, but you need to wait a whole month before you can transfer the characters.

In that time the owner can retrieve it with ease, if he got all the information that is. Even so, if the characters are transfered when the original account is recalled back, Blizzard can redo the transfer.

Yes indeed they don't allow it, but Blizzard is also an company that wants to make profit. You could very well say that they allowed it so that more transfers occur. Even during scamming process. I do not know if you can recall the money for the transfer fees, but I doubt Blizzard will refund you the tranfer fees if they know it was for an scammed/hacked account.

The password of the WoW account is different to the password of the B.net account, isn't it ? So how can we have the pass of the wow account to connect it to the B.net Account ?

I'm VERY interested in doing this, how would I go about getting my two accounts on one bnet? I have my account, and then my brother in law's account as well, so i can obviously have all the info if needed, what would be the appropriate steps to get this junction to happen? I would like to move my brother in law's account to my bnet, and then to bring one of the toons to my account from his.
