Loot-Filled Pumpkin bug.

Well if it was luck, I had got 4 squashlings and 9 horseman reins in one pumpkin loot.. All my bags were fulled it and it mailed 2 pumpkins to me, One just having a mask in it and the other having the mount and pet

Holy shit, it worked. Put a group of friends together, me healing and 4 dps due to no need for tank. We filled our bags as the thread instructed, and we ALL got the horseman's mount after the run. I love you OP, as I know now how to farm my last achieve for the Violet Proto (Sinister Calling, if curious). If I knew how to +rep, I would do it until I cannot do it again.

EDIT; I will do this tomorrow on my characters, chop up the screenshots, and show the bags as they are looted. Yes, RNG is RNG, but that many people at once is just TOO lucky. Even more so, the bags do not give masks normally, so this must be a glitch; an exploit. Even if you don't get insane loot, you do get another mask towards that pointless achievement.

lol no. I did do this, and I did get the mount, as did my friends. Try not to be rude when someone gives surprised, yet constructive criticism. Calling troll is more like calling yourself one

Not everyone gets lucky with it, as I just attempted it one more time on my alt tank; I got a flimsy mask and Sinister Squashling. However, it's chance and RNG, but this makes the odds far better.

Maybe I was too quick to dismiss this. Tried on four toons and got 4 masks in a row, its enough to try it again tomorrow..(have not got a single mask yet until today) Has anybody actually looted a totally empty bag(excepting justice points) from their mailbox? Perhaps looting from the mailbox guarantees getting at least one item? Somebody please confirm if you ever get a completely empty bag from your mailbox.

I had 3 people try it on their alts, all of them got masks, and they said that they hadn't gotten anything yet, I'll try it tomorrow on all my characters too.

1 had no loot
2 had masks

No mount or anything special.

I would like to offer some insight regarding the masks: it seems Blizzard may have applied a change yesterday that is now seeing masks drop 100% (or if not, some other very high percentage) from the bag now. Up until today I had not seen anyone get a mask from a pumpkin bag, nor had one myself. I did HH today and every person in the group got a mask.

I had tried the theory mentioned here so I left the group and went to the mailbox to pick up my bag. No mount, but I too did have a mask. My guess is they've buffed the drop rate of masks either (a) to make it easier to get the mask for all occasions achievement, or (b) to stop the issue of the bag instantly disappearing when it contains no loot because people were complaining about "missing" bags. Or maybe both.

Furthermore, I opened my pumpkin bag from yesterday (which had a squashling in it) again and found it now contained a mask as well as the squashling. So I'd say you're looking at a guaranteed mask in each bag. Note that I'm saying this has NOTHING to do with the mailbox thing - everyone is getting masks from their pumpkin bags now whether they do the mailbox thing or not.

As for the mount having a better chance to drop, I'm skeptical because I don't really see how it's possible from a technical point of view. No matter whether you receive it straight from the boss or in the mail, the contents will always be the same (ie. have the same chance to drop the same items). I can only assume a lot of people have just gotten very lucky

I had written a ticket about the 'missing bag' I had, and was told that a hotfix was on the way. It seemed this was the hotfix they made, a compromise that made sure people got something from the bags each time, and it also helping make the achievement easier.

The posting of this mailbox exploit and the hotfix may be a coincidence.
