I would like to offer some insight regarding the masks: it seems Blizzard may have applied a change yesterday that is now seeing masks drop 100% (or if not, some other very high percentage) from the bag now. Up until today I had not seen anyone get a mask from a pumpkin bag, nor had one myself. I did HH today and every person in the group got a mask.

I had tried the theory mentioned here so I left the group and went to the mailbox to pick up my bag. No mount, but I too did have a mask. My guess is they've buffed the drop rate of masks either (a) to make it easier to get the mask for all occasions achievement, or (b) to stop the issue of the bag instantly disappearing when it contains no loot because people were complaining about "missing" bags. Or maybe both.

Furthermore, I opened my pumpkin bag from yesterday (which had a squashling in it) again and found it now contained a mask as well as the squashling. So I'd say you're looking at a guaranteed mask in each bag. Note that I'm saying this has NOTHING to do with the mailbox thing - everyone is getting masks from their pumpkin bags now whether they do the mailbox thing or not.

As for the mount having a better chance to drop, I'm skeptical because I don't really see how it's possible from a technical point of view. No matter whether you receive it straight from the boss or in the mail, the contents will always be the same (ie. have the same chance to drop the same items). I can only assume a lot of people have just gotten very lucky

What you say is true, they added the masks when they did the resets.

I guess it was to stop the hundreds of 'OMG NO LOOT IN BAG' posts from people not realising they may just contain justice points.

As the op, i can say this definetly didnt work at brewfest, my alt mage often had his bags filled with crap and got nothing but frost badges when i recovered the bag from the post.

I agree with the fact that it's all about RNG, because that's usually what it is. I was really skeptical to this before I tried it out, but it _does_ definetly look like rare items have a bigger chance to drop.

I did this on 4 of my 80's this morning:

Rogue: Sinister Squashling, Mask
Death Knight: Headless Horseman Mount, Mask
Paladin: Baleful Sword, Mask
Shaman: Sinister Squashling, Baleful Sword, Mask
Warrior: Hallowed Helm, Flying Broom, Baleful Blade, Mask

I just think it's kinda strange that I havent gotten any loot the last days, and when I try this method I get something from every bag. It takes me like 30 sec to fill my bags (just remove the bags that are empty), and then queue up. It certainly doesnt take anything for me to do this "exploit" so I will continue to use it, even though it's just RNG, because obviously I have better luck getting stuff through my mail.

I have yet 2 80's to try it on, I'll update it when i've done it

And I got a screen from the shaman, didnt think of taking screenshots from the others, unfortunately.



EDIT: Just did it on my warrior now, and got 3 more rares. There definitely must be some truth inn this. The chances for this to happen can't all be random.

I think it's pretty much been confirmed throughout this thread that it does not work.
Tested also. Doesn't work.

On m druid i got the brewfest mount drop 1st run and also got it horseman mount 1st run... if that helps but this loot filled pumpkin bug doesnt seem to work .. ive tried and no good

Tried it first on my Paladin and yes, i got the mount.
After that i tried it on my Hunter, only got a mask (just a comon drop), after my hunter i tried it on my mage without the mail-bug and i got the mount aswell

So i dunno tbh :P

now the probability that people post here that it worked is much higher than people posting a fail and we as human beings(not objective) consider more likely a lucky situation than a normal(bad luck).

Well i didn't notice my inventory when doing the headless horsemen event and they mailed the bag to me i received the mount out of the bag, and a friend of mine said this happened to him too. I tested this on all of my toons and it seems you have a better chance of receiving items that you need for the hallowed end event. For example on my Deathknight i got the pet, Druid and rogue mount

Hm i did get a mount from this technique, but it seems to easy to be true....

Well ill test this tommorow with my 80s, so far ive had absolute junk.

Thing is even if my bad luck finally leaves tommorow will that be down to this or just typical rng :P

While this is true I don't think you should base the facts solely on this. I would've posted if it didn't work, and people can make a comparisons with previous experiences with these bags; like myself.

just to point out them masks have only started dropping since server restarts .... i think its to stop people moaning no loot every bag now drops a mask as far as i know correct me if im wrong.
