This is pretty much the same what happened for me. I did try changing the veri. code slightly as you suggested. Still nothing.

Alright, I've added some more information and two more screenshots to the original post to be sure people are doing it exactly as I did. EU seems to have been fine for everyone else, just US that went wrong for some people, so I don't know why it ain't workin' out for you.

I talked to Teliko personally last night and tried almost everything. Nothing on US works, if you try to race change or actually name change with invalid information your character gets locked and you have to cancel the transaction, but the name doesn't change like it does for the kids on EU, however, doing this for Faction change on US DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. I have talked to a few people and EU does seem to be working. The US and EU transaction pages are different, keep this in mind.

Then it seems to be only EU this is working on. Assuming you entered the information correctly, there's really nothing more I can suggest, sorry.

EU still working fine (10 minutes ago) following instructions, but i couldn't play/name-change untill i cancel the faction change through the "Transactions Page". Then i relogged again and only appears the "clone player" with crappy name. Change name and profit.

It worked for me, but they renamed it back to the old nick :-(. Propably the method is known by now...
