It's client side, some bug making the item stats from the old tooltip you opened to also be shown on the profession tooltip. At least last time I got a link like that linked, I opened it and wondered what he was talking about since it was a ordinary item on my side... guess they will fix this soon. (oh was a while ago so what I said might not be true, but I am sure thats how it is)

This trick works with all trade skills too, hilarious to have pots with stats on them I recommend clicking on some epic enchanted item with lots of gem slots first

Won't work. Attempting to edit the data in an item link in any chat = instant disconnect.

It used to be a scam that you could edit the stats of an item link on the AH, so to people it would look like it really is a bag with int/spirit, but when they buy it, it doesn't have the stats. They fixed it ages ago, though.

quick note, when i was linking my Blacksmithing: Lunar Crescent, it said Lunar Crescent of the Eagle, and the pattern had an eagle "buff" on my lunar crescent. it was weird. i didn't know what it was until i looked on your page +rep.

Tried making scam out of this unfortunately it was ither patched so its only client side or it has always been client side, cos when i tried to sell a netherweave bag with +3 resist to all everyone said its just a regular bag and i said check the chant and no1 could see it so unfortunately the scam cant happen

They must click the item that you linked with the property EX: (Robe of the Whale) then your pattern right after.
