Easy 540 SP Buff

Ok, so I noticed this in arena with my Shammy today. Not anything huge, but it's worth something.

The trinket Abyssal Rune has a chance to give you a 590 SP buff when you cast a harmful spell:

"Each time you cast a harmful spell, you have a chance to gain 590 spell power for 10 sec."
This prevents you from starting an encounter with the buff (I guess).

Anyways, this buff can be procced by Water Shield, which costs no mana, and is obviously not a harmful spell.

So to get this buff just before an encounter to start out with, just spam Water Shield and there you go.
I don't really know how to prove this as I have no program to record my WoW, but I'm sure someone can confirm it for me.

I haven't tested, but I don't see why not. It should actually have a better chance of working with Lightning Shield, seeing as it can be harmful.

There are more spells like water shield which proc your trinkets. A shaman from my guild has Dislodged Foreign Object - Item - World of Warcraft and got the proc after putting down his totems. He was really pissed because the fight started when the buff was just running out and the internal cd was blocking another proc

But to be honest, I don't see how you could exploit this. I mean you cannot proc the trinkets just in time as it could also take 5 or 10 casts of water shield and in arena for example it would really suck running around spamming your water shield and doing no damage at all

Im pretty sure he meant do this before the arena match starts to basicaly give you a boost going into the fight,which is pretty sweet since you already have the buff and your icd has started and allowing you the chance for another proc giving you a total of 2 procs at that point instead of it being the first proc.

Any buff under 30 seconds get taken away by preparation buff.

There's a lot of things proc on use trinkets proc with that they're not supposed to.
