Heroic Gunship access

Greetings,
In the past 2 resets, We've been doing heroic Gunship on our alts despite the fact that only mains have killed the Lich King.

The method is simple, have someone who can unlock hardmodes be the raid leader, unsaved and standing outside. Once the raid is at Gunship battle, just ask that person to switch difficulty to heroic and you'll be able to do it on hardmode.

The idea is why this is useful is that you get access to item level 264 (10) or 277 (25) without having to kill LK. Just pay someone who's not saved to be your raid leader and it will be done.

The good part is, the raid leader who is not saved won't also be saved to ICC and he can do it himself with his guild later on that reset, or give access to heroic to another group.

Gunship on heroic is as pathetic as on normal mode, so it's still free loot.

Tested and still working as of Wednesday 17/Feb.

I dont think blizzard can bann you for turning it on heroic mode for just 1 boss. They made it easy them self and they share saved so i dont think blizzard banns for that. I have to try this on next reset. Gr8 job Jiggly33.

Gunship is the most easy to do on heroic anyway ^^

Should work with all hardmodes, including Lich King if someone has killed Putricide/Blood Queen/Sindragosa/Saurfang. But if you can kill other bosses on heroic, you should easily handle Lich King on normal.

Our alts now have killed LK on normal yesterday so we won't be using this anymore, that's why I revealed it now. Don't over abuse it so it doesn't get hotfixed.

Doesn't work. Tried it tonight, had a group at gunship, I got invited to it, was given raid leader and switched to 10 man heroic and nothing changed for them.

I'm assuming maybe if one of them zoned out and I zoned in (you then have 1 minute to either get saved or leave the instance) while within that 1 minute you switch to heroic mode. Because yes, when I was sitting around in Org and tried to switch it to a heroic version for a group it didn't work.

It does work. I made 5000g selling pugs/guilds heroic Gunship/Rotface 25 access on Wednesday.

You either form the raid, have your raid zone in and then switch to heroic then zone out and leave raid while others are inside (they get heroic since first boss). Or you can be invited when their raid is at Gunship, they pass leader to you, then you zone in and switch to hardmode then zone out and leave raid.

You don't get saved, and I doubt it can be even tracked. Just don't over announce it so it doesn't get fixed.

Seriously, this is in no way an exploit, not everyone in the raid is supposed to have killed lich king in order to enable hardmodes, only the raid leader.

Which means you can in no way be banned for doing something that oyu're supposed to be able to do.

Why would this be bannable? Blizzard intended you to switch between normal and heroic. Why would it be illegal if the person who set it to heroic isn't there... Imo it is legal.

you do get saved when you enter a dungeon with bosses down... or can you change difficulty without hitting accept on the save confirmation dialog then go out?

Yes, you can switch it to heroic without clicking accept and zone out before getting saved.
