I did three turn in's today. It showed an XP gain in chat, but I didn't actually gain XP.
By the way, the person who was asking about the script for XP:
/UnitXP("Unit")
It only works on yourself though.
My previous conclusion still stands.

aww no lvl 255 now
indeed. By each expantion the experience bar will be resetted to zero XP on lv 70. When i dinged lv 60 and turned in some quests i had like 10K exp at level 60. And when the expantion came it was all gone ! So don't try it because it is just a waste of your precious goldfarming time![]()
It's not possible i've actually considered this myself in the past i noticed it gives about 8300 xp at level 70, and then i downloaded a mod that shows your progress into level 70, and my progress has been 18k when i hit 70, and 18k it remains after many many turn ins of Oshu'gun powder. Don't waste your time.
And besides, the GMs would react to you so fast it's really not worth your time.
Grats on getting to 71, now you have Blizzard higher ups (you got to 71, you're not supposed to, they have to figure out what the heck is going on here) and they have to do a full check on your account, and they'll just change you back to 70 due to the flood of GM reports they'll obviously get with some guy level 71 standing there.
You wont be able to gain any higher levels until the next expansion is released. All the XP you gain from quests or kills just float off into the ether, and you will never receive their benefits.
Dunno if anyone ever explained this but Right before TBC came out that big patch was released with all of the content in it for the expansion so that's when the rested xp reset but then characters started getting it again so they were able to be fully rested when they started leveling
Forgot to say so but that patch came out like 2 weeks before the expansion was released
1.12.1, the best patch ever.
I would like to threaten you to death.. How do I do it? Is there a button?
1. You can use this to find out how much exp you need 70->71
2. To get that amount of experience, is technically impossible... there are no quests that give 1 million experience, unfortunately. :PCode:/script DEFAULT_CHAT_FRAME:AddMessage("Experience to level up (not including current earned): "..UnitXPMax("player"));
But even if there were, you still would not be able to get to 71. It is not possible until the next expansion. The only quests that will give you XP at 70 are repeatable quests. All other quests just give gold at the max level, which is 70 currently.
Even if all the XP counts toward getting you to 71, you would stop at 1 (one) XP away and any further XP gained would, like I said previously, just float off into the ether, and no benefit would be received.
This is how it worked for level 60s who were using the Burning Crusade trial. They would get XP all the way up to one point away from 61 and then all other XP would not count. I believe that this is also the way that it works for people using the basic trial too. They get one point away from 21 and cannot gain any further XP. Once they buy the full game, they are then free to continue to level up as normal.
If XP at 70 counts at all, this is the way that it would work. Once the next expansion comes out and we all get to explore Northrend and the level cap gets raised to 80, then the XP will start to count again.
Not sure if that's right, maybe though.
The way i heard it was that you basically got left with the rested xp you had left from the moment you dinged 60. So if you'd left yourself at level 59 @ 99% xp... waited and got fully rested xp, you'd ding and stil have the full 1.5lvl's of rested. Whereas most people like myself i guess just got to 59 and then went hardcore'ing to lvl 60, when you're so close i can't really be bothered waiting any longer to ding to the level cap. :P
Which might explain why some of my friends had rested (varying amounts) and myself and a few friends didn't (we went to 60 too fast to get any rollover rested xp).
That's how i heard it anyway, just a FYI as i BET the next expansion will use the EXACT same method again, and if it's the one i mentioned above, it might be worth leaving your alts at level 69.99 for a week before dinging them, too tempting to test for most people i'm sure, myself included.
Oh, and as for this exploit... you won't be getting any genuine xp, as someone mentioned, honour tokens used to give '3000+ xp' popups when you were level 60 pre-TBC. Had no benefit, gained you no real xp so unless you were farming these mobs anyway, you're just wasting your time.

Well, even if it did work and you hit 71 Blizzard would probably ban you or delevel you then do a hot-fix for it. GG
