Defender of the Timbermaw!

So i got my exalted trinket with The Timbermaw today, and figured the pet you summon with the trinket does not dissapear when you switch trinket. For all min/maxers out there like me, more dps for your bossfights

It spams a lightning bolt that is ~2 second cast time for 250 damage, which turns out in ~125 dps.

there is also the chance that the tank pulls before you swap the trinket to 'min/max' your dps and you are stuck with the timbermaw trinket on resulting in much lower dps!

No topguild will pull randomly, as alot of people are potting pre-combat as well to get a 2nd in combat.

and min/maxing is min/maxing.. nothing is worthless

I just happen to be in a top raiding guild and try to make it very clear when I am pulling but there are times when someone calls out to stop a pull because of a dc or they are wearing the wrong gear/spec or any other reasons
Shit does happen and for dps sensetive fights it isn't worth the risk

In a topguild myself We usually double-check everything and make a call before we're pulling. If 1 messes up, all pots and everything people prepared for the pull is lost, so it really happens rarely, as noone wants to **** up 24 potions.

If you're planning on using a trinket then swapping it out, try the Vanquished Tentacle of Yogg'Saron. The tentacle lasts for 40 secs and doesn't disappear if you replace the trinket. The tentacle does around 18000 damage before it goes away (assuming it has a target to hit 100% of the time).

If you don't have the YS trinket, the ZA Voodoo Gnome trinket will be better than the Timbermaw trinket. The 3 gnomes don't disappear if you replace the trinket, and they do more than the Timbermaw trinket could ever hope to do.

agreed, seems like the risks outweight the benefits... but if you always have perfect pulls then it couldnt hurt to swap like that

The same also works for any of the netherwing rep trinkets.

you can actually combine some of those items...
best combo that I know of is:
trinket 1 netherwing dragon trinket
trinket 2 yogg saron tentacle (on mobile stuff voodoo gnomes)
offhand onyxia skeleton tome
you can actually write a macro to use all these items and equip your pve gear in 1 click.

the problem with using both trinket slots is that a lot of the time at least one of your trinkets will have a use effect
so waiting on the equip cooldown could lower your dps more than the minion trinkets offer
