I can confirm this bug. It happened to me by accident a couple of nights ago.

Nice find! I was curious if this worked with similar quests and it seems to work with Spiritual Insight. Just cast your mount and spam the quest item and you'll complete the quest and be turned you into a wisp for a few seconds.
