I have no idea, but when my guild was doing General 25m Hard Mode, we wiped our first attempt but got him down to 34% we do not know how, and when we came back he was still at 34%.

IMO, a boss/mob returning to its spawn EVADES i.e is not killable this would have to be some Freakish timing to pull it off b4 evade kicks in so w/o a video this is more or less a theory.
