Yah it is working as intended just like your post. Your post is more of a smart use of game mechanics, not an exploit, the lava was programed to work that way.

Exactly! the lava was "programmed" to do periodic damage while you're in it.

Common sense then tells you, "minimize the time you're in the lava to minimize damage". How can this be accomplished if travel through the lava is necessary? By jumping out of lava to minimize time in it.

I realize I'm being a prick at this point, but ffs where do you want the line to be drawn with "exploit" vs "feature". Use your brains.

Been using this for a long time, but I don't see how "keep jumping into lava = not getting burned" could be anything close to common sense. And alll this spam is so retarded that it even makes this thread rep worthy !

I think because most people would think of it as jumping "out" of the lava not in. It's common sense because any time spent in the air isn't spent inside lava? Even if you weren't avoiding all the ticks your damage taken would still be reduced by spending 50% of your time in the lava instead of 100%. Common sense, anyone who says it isn't should probably reconsider their position before this point makes you look utterly ridiculous.
