    Fewer adds on Deconstructor

Ran a search and I didn't find anything like this, but please let me know if this if a repost.

During my guild's Ulduar run tonight, we discovered a neat trick on Deconstructor. If you tank him up against the east wall, when he hits his heart phase, the adds only come from the two junk piles on the west side of the room. None come from the piles closest to him. We haven't done this on 10 man yet, but I'm assuming it works the same way. Made our night a lot easier

Hope this helps people working on him, finally looking to contribute!

Edit: I'll try to get screenshots up at some point, not sure how much they'll prove though.

    Edit: Screenshots for the positioning:

    http://img410.imageshack.us/img410/7...2709225555.jpg

Screens are from one of our wipes, first night in there on 25 man. Amount of adds seemed normal for the amount coming from just 2 junk piles.

Sounds intresting, and helpful for hardmode. Could you submit some screenshot atleast for the exact tanking spot? does the other side spawn more adds or normal amount?

We've done this with pulling him to one corner and it making the adds only come from 3 piles. Will try your method tomorrow and post if it works or not.

Basically he won't spawn adds from a junk pile if he's too close to it. So you want him positioned as close to 2 piles as possible, IE: exactly between 2 of the side piles.

Its easiest to just tank XT right by the back door /on the stairs(where the teleporter was on the ptr) because adds would only spawn from the NE, SE, and SW sides, and it would take an eternity for the SE and SW adds to get to the boss which gives you more time on the heart. Its even easier now that they can be slowed...

If you position him where we had him in the screenshots, you only get the adds from the SW and NW piles, none from the east side. When we've tanked him at the bottom of the stairs, adds come from all 4 piles. When you position him on the East wall, the adds have to slowly walk all the way from the West side of the room, providing maximum time on the heart.

As far as I have seen it is a fact that he will not spawn adds from a pile if he is close to it.. so this seems likely to work.

Will be trying it with guild and posting results!

If you're having problems on the mega-nerfed XT-002.

Positioning is the least of your worries.
Double check you're trading with me in case of impostors

I fully realize and agree with that. My guild runs 10 mans on its own, we run 25 mans with a sister guild, so to speak. Our GM is in the process of moving to Germany, so basically just waiting on him to get his stuff back online so we can start seriously raiding again, and weed out the idiots/shit dps.

But this works great for people who are having problems controlling the adds and such, and it provides a lot more time for dps to focus on the heart. It could help a ton with unlocking his hard mode.

    He's not mega nerfed.

Stop acting like you are good at this game. The OP was pointing out an easier spot to fight boss. And it is, in fact, much easier to fight him when less adds spawn, because you can do more dps to the heart. Why do you insist on trolling him and/or people reading the thread?

Extremely helpful for practice on hard mode, just need a tad more dps to drop that heart 15% more % and we'll have it.

Great tactic, we only had 2 of the big adds spawn, a single pack of little robots and 2 bombs throughout the whole fight.
