I had this happen to me 2 nights ago.
I've not been able to reproduce it since.

I remember I paused for a minute on the flight back to main land, I landed on one of the large floating rocks in between the Ledge and main land (had no vegatation on it). Took off after a minute and I changed but the mount didnt.
I also logged off at Wildhammer still on the drake, I logged back on yesterday and I still had it (but the bugger disapeared after dismounting though)

ok i found out how u have a higher chance to get this (it is repeteble and it stayes untill u dismount) you got to have a DOT on you when you mount it increases your chance that it'l work

No you bloody don't... It's a bug, Sure, But you can even log out with it, And don't announce it as free, i don't consider 5.000 gold free, Do you?

The easiest way is to just fly straight up and fly at "the top of the sky" when leaving the area. Somehow that means your mount doesn't get changed back.

Kinda sucks though that this can be exploited, means that when someone actually do get the mount it will no longer be special.

I know how to reproduce this... I don't know if it works with all trinkets but atleast if you got blood fury and stand next the where the mount get to netherdrake (you are in the red orc and netherdrake form) and use it and mount up and fly away when you have the buff/debuff the mount will not be changed back only the 'costume'.

Confirmed that this works better with a dot, I tried this about 10 times, different location, then the last one I got a Dragonmaw Transporter to Serpent Sting me, quickly flew away and bingo.

Yep!! This works. Tried same thing. I let the dragonmaw DoT me, then i finished him off fast, and flied into shadowmoon valley again before the DoT went off, and i was still on netherdrake but changed back into human.

Does anyone know how to get more than one netherdrake? A friend of mine has two different ones and won't tell me how he did it =P
