The reason this works is because the client tells the server where you are, you might as well use a program instead of plugging the cable :P

This trick works off and on.
When you lose your internet and you either automatically DC or you stay in the game for a few seconds.
Im not totally sure you can do this off and on over and over and that the servers will catch up to where you are.
hmm this does seem abit pointless as when you lag you still pull all the mobs anyway :/
I'm on an Acer laptop and my buddy uses alienware, there's been plenty of times where in the middle of a raid something stupid happens while we're getting another slice of pizza or dew and I trip his ethernet cord. If we plug it in fast enough he doesn't DC, things just kind of freeze and sounds repeat for a few seconds and when we plug it back it it goes back to normal.
I've been here for a while but never posted but this I'd say is plausible.
I'll test it out on my pc tomorrow and see what happens.
How to build a lag switch, makes lagging yourself alot easier than plugging/unplugging your cable

One thing I think it doesn't mention in that video is how to make sure you don't automatically get disconnected from server. You use a switch/router. Use the lag-switch'd cable to run from your modem to your router. Then plug a regular cable from a port from the router to your computer. Now just flip the switch and you shouldn't automatically disconnect, you'll just lag like regular internet lag. Then switch it back to unlag. I believe that's how it works, never tried it, and I have no idea what effect it would have on WoW.
