When the guy said he dies when he comes, I think he ment, as soon as he is down the fight is over..
He's as good as dead when he gets down.
nice i have died very many times thx:P
This fight is really easy and if your group can get him down then they are good enough to kill him... the hardest part of this fight is the add phase and that is a joke. I thought it was almost impossible to wipe during phase 2.
I counted to 10 in my head and there has been no reply yet... there will be killing.... much killing!
Apparently all of you have problems killing this boss otherwise you would get what i ment.
First off it was sarcasm.
But to clarify, i ment that he is so easy once you are at that point i dont see why you would need to avoid shadowbolts by draining his mana when he blows up so fast after he comes down anyways. I have never heard of a guild/pug/shit group wiping on this fight after phase 1.
Wasting your time costs you $15, wasting 24 other peoples time costs $360. Raid right or dont raid at all.
Im about to post sum pics
Mana Burn - Spell - World of Warcraft
Destroy 13% of the target's mana (up to a maximum of 26% of your own maximum mana). For each mana destroyed in this way, the target takes 0.5 Shadow damage.
OK?
a heads up to all the locks, use CoD on him a little whilebefore phase 2 for some extra dmg.![]()
this will NOT WORK.
you should read the tooltip for the mana draining spells more carefully.
for example: Drain mana (Drain Mana - Spell - World of Warcraft)
Transfers 3% of target's maximum mana every 1 sec from the target to the caster (up to a maximum of 6% of the caster's maximum mana every 1 sec). Lasts 5 sec.
the amount of mana drained by your spell is capped by the caster's mana pool.
if you have 1,000 mana, and the boss has 1,000,000 mana, you will drain 6% x 1000 = 60 mana per second, instead of 3% x 1 million = 30k per second.
Sorry for the bump, but I think this post should end on a good note, not a sour one.
Last night, 25-man Naxx, 2 Locks (Mana Drain), 2 Priests (Mana Burn), and a Hunter (Viper Sting)...
We had him to 0 mana by group 7/18. It was hilarious watching him melee hit our tank for 700 damage. Next Tuesday, I'll make sure to grab a picture or video of it.
Still works 100%! +Rep !
Drain Mana
17% of base mana 30 yd range
Channeled
Transfers 3% of target's maximum mana every 1 sec from the target to the caster (up to a maximum of 6% of the caster's maximum mana every 1 sec). Lasts 5 sec.
Mana Burn
14% of base mana 30 yd range
3 sec cast
Destroy 13% of the target's mana (up to a maximum of 26% of your own maximum mana). For each mana destroyed in this way, the target takes 0.5 Shadow damage.
Viper Sting
8% of base mana 5 - 35 yd range
Instant cast 15 sec cooldown
Requires Ranged Weapon
Stings the target, draining 16% of mana over 8 sec (up to a maximum of 32% of the caster's maximum mana). Only one Sting per Hunter can be active on any one target.
It's impossible to drain 425k mana over 7 waves unless your raid is entirely made of Priests/Hunters/Warlocks, and even then I'd consider that impossible.
Stop spreading lies. Draining Gothik's mana does work, but you will NOT bring him down to zero, thus bringing this exploit to the Useless category.

Actually, we just tested this for fun (gotta get something to do, this fight is so boring anyways).
And I think - I'm not sure though - that he hits harder in melee than with his regular shadowbolts.
But who cares about the result, as long as it keeps you busy during phase 1, right? :>
I think he meant that the boss is so easy that you kill him really fast anyways so that you don't even need this exploit.
Which is kinda true, this boss is easier then the chess event in karazhan.
I agree with all of you if he didn't mean what I just pointed out, which might be the obvious.
Still rep from me!
This is intended not an exploit....
We just mash all people on the living side then drain gothik for laughs...
You can drain him and btw there is a limit to how much viper can drain lol..
