Possible perma-rested xp bonus with BoA shoulders

I'm not 100% sure on this and I have no idea how to replicate it, but basically I'm lvl 74 with rested bonus lasting since lvl 70 and seems like my way to lvl 75 will be 100% rested.

You might think that since wrath release would be easy to play a little a toon and then coming back later after a week just to find a full rested level, but this is not the case; what I exactly did was the following:

    - wrath release: rerolled dk and never logged my druid aside from when I needed to disenchant my stuff

    - one week ago I went to the druid trainer to respec balance so I started leveling my druid again and had him wear the BoA shoulders (sunderseer mantle) BEFORE KILLING ANYTHING

    - I moonfired my way to lvl 71,5, ran tk and ssc with a pug and went back to the trainer to respec feral (didn't enjoy balance) and changed again my shoulders to the stormshroud ones (again BoA)

    - quested to lvl 74 having perma rested bonus

I'll repeat again: I'm not sure how to replicate it and if it's some kind of exploit (assuming it isn't I should hit unrested pretty soon)

DON'T REP or take this thread too seriously until I'll level some more and post that I had indeed rested xp for 10 levels or that I was a retard for posting this crap =)

    see you soon

yeah, well, although it is helpful having rested till full level, i doubt it is exploit, i think it comes down to the simple fact of your toon being in the inn for so long, the rested meter just went up really far. XD thanks for sharin

well wasn't like that you would have max 1,5 lvl of xp for resting inside inns?

if blizz removed that limit (which in all honesty I didn't know) this would explain everything

EDIT checked on wowwiki and that's what they say

While in an inn or anywhere in a capital city, your player portrait will begin to glow and your level circle will say zzz, indicating that you are resting. If you log off here, you will continue to rest while offline.

One bar of rested XP (5% of a level) is earned for every 8 hours spent resting. A maximum of 30 bars (150% of a level) may be earned. In other words, you can leave your character resting in an inn or capital city for up to 10 days (without gaining experience) before you earn the maximum amount of rest state, and a resting character stores up one full level of rest in 160 hours (6.67 days).

You also become rested while logged off in the wilderness, but the accumulation is slower. When logged off "outside," rest is gained at one fourth the rate in an inn, or one bar every 32 hours.

It may also be possible to engage the resting state while in ghost form, or dead.

First off, Rested XP acrrues to one and a half levels beyond your current experience. At this point it caps.

When I levelled my mage, from 70-80 his rested xp was capped. He also had the BoA shoulders. He only just ran out of rested xp at 78. I had levelled him this far over about 3days so had very little time to accrue additional rested xp.

The point is WotLK delivers a shitload of quest xp, probably close to 80% of your xp gained would be quest xp. Quest xp doesn't consume your rested xp, therefore it lasts a lot longer.

No exploit, just lots more quest xp than usual.

Btw, other guildies have noticed the same without using BoA shoulders.

Tested. Rested EXP is being consumed as intended, no exploit here.

Well the max amount of rest allocated to each character is 30bars, or 1.500 levels of pure rested xp. Whenever you kill a mob, you get double xp, but when you hand in a quest or discover a new reigeon, it does not double the xp. Instead, it bumps your rested xp upwards, so lets say you kill 10 things and turn in a quest. The majority of that xp awarded came from the quest, so if we imagine getting 50% of our levels rested xp, and the other 50% quest xp. That would easily sustain you for 3 levels, and in between that, the rest refills while you are logged off
