So it's pretty much worthless to do unless you want 5k xp in 3-4 mins...which I can do by killing mobs....
Maybe this was before a patch??

While this is an exploit, it is not exactly the most useful exploit.

Think about this...he said he got from 75 to 76 in just less than 2 hours. That is nearly 2 hours of 3 people's time to get one level, doing the same, monotonous task over and over again. Not to mention that this is a competitive zone, and it wouldn't take long for others to realize that you are exploiting, others who are trying to complete the quest legitimately with you in the way.

So what I'm saying is that this exploit is kind of like saying you can get into your house by crawling through a window...sure, but isn't the door easier?

Wrong, the mob rewarded me 30,000 experience over and over.

As for the "waste" of the 2 people's time, I can assure you that they didn't mind. Hell, just find a few people that want you to hit 80.

First of all...he would have been the first to ding 80. But blizzard stopped him at 79 (if i recal it correctly), and gave him a teporary ban aswell as reseting them to level 70. If i remember correctly i think it was a group of well geared 70`s and no 80`s involved, as they were going for the world record.

Jeah, Athene made mobtagging popular and now every mob is an "Exploit".
It's a nice find, but I wouldn't call this an exploit. its just how the game works

I imagine that the only possible way for ti to actually give 30k is for the damage to be done by 1-2 people..

Didn't they fix mob tagging?

I've noticed that if I attack and kill a tagged mob on 50% I get around 440 exp (Half of the usual 995) from the mob...

Or is that the whole point of level 80s?

I think Blizzard fixed it so the more damage you do to the mob the more xp you get. If you're not in the group that killed the mob I mean.

I'm not sure though.
