It's been clarified multiple times before:

If you have a level 55+ on any realm, it unlocks DK creation on every realm. You only need one 55+ character on one realm to allow creation of a DK on all realms. Then you will be able to create one DK on each realm you so desire.

The only exception to the rule is when Blizzard opens up brand new realms, post-WotLK. There will most likely be a delay before DK creation is allowed on those.


This is my understanding.

They changed it. You can ONLY make DKs on realms in which you have a 55+. And @torusbeast, how is this exploit even remotely fail? This is the most useful post on here in a long time. My god, I wish I could -rep.

What is with all the misinformation?

I can't link the sticky due to my post count, but in the main WoW forums go into the Lich King sub forums, then look at the Death Knight creation sticky.

Q. What if I have a level 55 character on one realm but want to create a death knight on another realm to play with friends?
A. At the launch of Wrath of the Lich King, you will only be able to create a death knight on the same realm where you have an existing level 55 or higher character. In the future, we plan to allow the creation of a death knight on any realm (provided you have at least one level 55+ character).

DAMNIT how many times does it have to be said. About 1 month ago BLIZZARD changed the DK policy from 55+ on one server and you could make a DK anywhere to you MUST have a 55+ ON THE SERVER you want your DK on.

The reason they did this was to prevent massive server rerolls, DK's flooding low population realms, and horrible class inbalances. Doesnt hurt that now every idiot who kept believing the old policy now has to pay $25 for a PCT.

Get your facts straight ****er. Stop flaming this thread.

Players will be able to create one Death Knight per server as long as they have at least one character that is level 55 or higher on that server. There are no racial limitations for creating your Death Knight, but PvP servers are still limited by faction (i.e., if you have an Alliance character on a PvP server, you cannot make a Horde Death Knight on that PvP server).

You can ONLY make a Death Knight on the server WITH the lvl 55+, I just tried it to prove myself right. End of story.

No they changed it a month ago. You can only create it on the server you already have the high level characters on for the time being.
