    Nightbane easy flight-phase

I found a really nice trick when fighting Nightbane, and I couldn't see any thread about it, so here goes.

When Nightbane lifts off he will target a random person and spawn skeletons at that target. If Nightbane loses his target he stops spawning the skeletons. You can do this in three different ways, a hunter can feign death, a rogue can vanish and a mage can, if timed correctly, turn on invisibility. Not sure if there are any other abilities you can use to get someone to detarget you.

I am not sure if invisibility potions works with this, but if it does, get everyone in the raid some potions. Could be useful to use before he choses his target for weak people so that he can't target them in the first place.

If timed correctly, you will only get one skeleton which can be taken down very quick so that you all can prepare for the next landphase.

This is of course based on luck about who he targets, so it's not a failsafe method, but it can ease up the fight quite a bit.

Another thing hunters should do is to put up a snake trap at 76/51/26% so that it triggers just when he lifts off. It's about 33-40% chance that he will target a snake, and the snake dies so quickly that only two skeletons gets summoned. With two hunters in the group the amount of snakes will make the chance of him targeting a player even less.

The snakes can also be the target of his random half-distance-debuff, so they should be used whenever cooldown allows it.

I hope this will make your Nightbane experience a bit easier. I know it did for us =)

...That's kinda how I found out *blush* I pressed FD the second I got the warning that I had aggro. I thought the skeletons were going to kill me ^^ And then I noticed there was only one skeleton that phase and added two and two together from that =P

The snake trap is just a modified version of using it on Juliette, which I don't think will be possible next patch. It could be that they also change Shade of Aran and Nightbane so that the snakes will no longer be targetable by them. I've never heard of anyone using it on nightbane before though.

If you do plan on using snakes on Shade of Aran, do it AFTER flamewreath or you might find yourself LFGuild because your snakes set off the explosion If you just use them after the flamewreath, they will die before the next one is up, so no worries there.

    Re: Nightbane easy flight-phase

How does Nightbane trigger the Snake Trap then? I mean he has to step on it before it activates, right?

I take it that's a rhetorical question since you answered it yourself?
