Hear all the Sounds in game

Ok, I was playing around with scripts and found out that if you type in a /script PlaySound(So and so creatue directory) It plays the sound!



Here, I'll show you how


Get MWS (MyWarcraftStudio)


Open up Common.mpq


Go to sound


Go to the creature file


Look up what creature sound you want, in this case, Epoch Hunter

Find what file you want to play, there'll be ones liek attack, wound, flap wings, stuff like that


lets play his "Breath"


Remember the whole directory to his "breath" move (Sound\\Creature\\EpochHunter\\CAV_Epoch_Breath01.wav)

Now, go into WoW and type in

/script PlaySoundFile("Sound\\Creature\\EpochHunter\\CAV_Epoch_Breath01.wav")

It'll play that sound of that file, it's just fun to do, no one else can hear it but It's still really cool, Im a fan of the echo voices :P


You can do this with all the sounds in WoW, just type /script PlaySoundFile then the directory to that sound and it plays it, dont forget the ( and "





Btw, I figured this was a "Trick" so I put it in the "Exploit" forums

I have the murloc sound attached to my Battleshout macro lol :P

btw, to use MWS go to the top left of the panel thing and click on "File(F)"

Then go to Open MPQ Archive

Then go to your World of Warcraft/Data folder and find "Patch.mpq" and go to sound then creatue then whatever you want yadayadayada



Oh btw, Common.mpq and Patch-2.mpq also have ALOT more sound files, mostly Common.mpq

you can also type /script PlaySound ("LEVELUP") and you can hear the leveling sound

alright this confuses me.... i got a tree path here:
Sound\Creature\DeathKnight\DeathKnightAggro.wav
so if i wanted to make it play in wow i would do
/script PlaySoundFile ("Sound\Creature\DeathKnight\DeathKnightAggro.wav")?

(i tried my above post and it dosent play anything game sounds on)
alright i even went back to the first post in here and all i copied was the tree path then went into wow and typed in
/script PlaySoundFile ("Sound\\Creature\\EpochHunter\\CAV_Epoch_Breath01.wav") and it dosent work but when i go and copy your full one it does it just fine...

Bezike, you have to put two \'s in between Sound, Creature, DeathKnight, and DeathKnightAggro.wav. Also, I erased the space in between PlaySoundFile and the opening bracket (. It worked for me.

So couldnt you put music files in your game folder and then use a macro to play them? Could make for a nice bit of in game entertainment.

when I try to open the Patch.mpq it doesn't show anything :P kinda annoying
