    I just used this macro and out of boredom put in my own name. I got an error saying I could not invite myself to a group, and low and behold, 3 seconds later I was getting the 1 minute message.

    Use the macro and just put your own name in. Don't even need to bother a random person. ^^;

    EDIT

    Well I tried reenacting it and am having issues. Guess it was a one time fluke.

    Well known trick, rogues used to use this all the time to reset instances before there were limits to resets. They would choose people in instances, like Molten Core at the time, and it would treat it as though they joined and left and the person in the instance never even saw the invite since they were in a party.

    Does this work with random signs (like *) so I could for instance make a /invite *a* macro and it will automatically invite someone with a in their name? (About a week away from beeing able to acess a computer with WoW so I can test this myself )

    I tested this out it works.

    I have tried using the *a* to choose any player with "a" in their name and that didn't work. And I tried using %t, but I can't target players outside of the instance (only works in raids I believe).

    An idea of mine is to use a script function to grab a name from your friend's list or guild list and invite them (so it would invite the first person on the list who was on) But I'm not sure how to go about doing this.

    You can change /promote X to /script PromoteToLeader("player2") to automatically promote that person you invite which would help it is possible to use a script function to invite someone from your guild or friend's list.

    So if some of you more "programming/scripting" intelligent people could possibly run with this, it'd get a lot better.

    In case nobody knew, this even works if the person you choose is already in a party. Just tested it now, accidently picked someone in a party.

    You do realize you must replace "X" in the macro with someones name who is online?

    I have been using this actively for a few patches now, it works great, still does. Yes on live servers.

    Makes it easier to not type the name in the macro console, but just have this one ready to be clicked.
    Who's going to be clickable while in the instance?

    Oh.. and BTW, +Rep >_>
