Thats all lovely, but only he would see those rolls in yellow text. Everyone would see them in the off-orange-red colour of your usual emote. Unless hes got the worlds best addon ever.

Your an idiot. Read what I wrote. This isn't client side. Everyone is seeing it yellow.

So, you're saying changing the color of emotes is server side?

You need a hack to make it server side.

Whoever believes this is an idiot and doesn't have the slightest clue how these things work.
The colour of the text is a part of the client's interface. Only the client can change this, and it has absolutely nothing to do with the server. The server doesn't send out or receive the colour of the interface text, the game running on your own machine is doing that itself, in conjunction with how you have configured it.
Put simply, you cannot tell another client (by sending data through the server to their machine) what colour to set your own emote text within their interface.

I'll add a little to help people understand how it works.

Say you have Trade chat set as bright red text. If someone named "Bill" types "WTS crappy crap" and sends it to the trade channel, your client machine doesn't pick up the colour of the text or what the colour should be, it will only pick up the tag or ID of the channel the message was sent on.

"See my screenshot. The guild master is telling he is going to kick me because I win all the sunmotes."

So you do have the program or hack or w/e that allows you to change?

Alright, that sounds, and is correct. Then how do you manage to do it on Emu servers? The client should be exactly the same, it's just the server that differs.

Gotta try if ColorMe works after school, weekly maintenance.

    Edit:
    Wait, I just remembered something.
When your client tries to send a message that includes || to the server, the latter one is replaced by a letter. This makes changing the color impossible.
However, there's a WPE filter that changes all |f into ||, but you can get banned for modifying packets.
    I think Warden detects that.

    Add-Ons

I haven't gone and tested these add-ons because I really couldn't care if this is true or not. I sold my main, and am leveling another alt up.

This is the only chat color changing mod I could find. I don't know if it os allowed by the Blizzard ToS, or if it only works client side, or if it works on other clients.
