According to the FAQ, only the new player is supposed to get the bonus.

It's an Exploit because it is an advantage that is not suppose to be in the game. Apparently they over looked it or something. And I discovered this error. Hence it is an exploit. An advantage that was discovered but was not intended.

this is one hell of a step up from your previous "kill AV rams for XP" guide

This is an example of Blizz not thinking things thru - it's currently NOT an exploit as the faq says this is just how it should work, but they will certainly soon nerf it so you can't just keep making endless trial recruit accts and and tripling all your quests

Okay, it currently IS an exploit, because only the lower level character is supposed to get the tripled exp.

Also, if the two characters are not the same level, only the lower-level character is given the experience boost.

That in itself makes it an exploit upon the system.

For both characters of the same level. You ****ing suck at trying to prove this wrong. You didn't include anything about the levels.
