Quick Guide to Ogre Suit Fun

I'm not sure how many people have the Ogre Suit from TCG but since different shapeshifts work different ways, i thought I'd cover a few things you can do with it, primarily how to mount.

- You can use the fire festival gear while shapeshifted without breaking shapeshift (unlike some other mounts).


Beyond that, I have tested that you CAN mount using the Wetlands trick that works for most other shapeshifts. (Yes, I know this has been posted in a variety of forms but I thought I'd share that it works for the Ogre suit.

In case you've missed the bajillion other threads, what you do is engage several of the cursed Wetlands sailors while shapeshifted. This will cast a debuff to make you undead WITHOUT cancelsing the other costume buffs.

While undead, you can mount. When the debuff wears off, you will be mounted in the ogre suit. I usually take the time to hearth somewhere during the two minute debuff and just make sure I'm mounted before it runs out.

NOTE: If you logout while mounted as an Ogre and log back in, you get an error message about how the buffs do not stack. What's interesting to me about this is that it means that some buffs are REAPPLIED at login. There's almost certainly something that can be done with this.

Not many people are aware of this but when the AQ bug mounts were modified, anyone who was logged out on one logged back in to discover that their mounting buff had been replaced by buff which changed them into black wasps. If you know of any upcoming change to spell/buff IDs, it should mean you might be able to discover one in an upcoming patch.
