There's no restoration limits, GMs just said that pre-BC to scare you out and prevent restoration exploit.

Nowadays they don't even talk about restoration limits if you try to restore something.

well if you can do that with marks, the day before S4 opens you could buy a S3 piece then on the S4 day you would get the arena points that you made that week and then you could buy your S4 piece and tell a GM that you made a mistake in buying it and he would refund your points, which will basically put you over 5k cap arena points, well im not sure, just an idea while reading this post.

This does work. I once bought the S1 staff for my twink (shaman). One week later I wanted to do arena, which you need mace + shield for. So I just wrote a ticket like "lol fook staff giev me teh honor bak". I got back my honor + the 40 av marks. Because I make most of my honor in AV I already had 100 marks at that point again and the 40 from the GM in my mailbox. You can't take them out anyway, because the marks are limited to 100 ( Unique (100) that is ) but Blizzard mails last for 90 days, so you can keep them for quite a while.

I wouldn't consider this an exploit anyway. Since you have to farm you marks normally, you just have some more available and lose an item restoration. So no profit at all :S

The guy means, if you want to buy alot of items at the start of S4, but lets say to buy alll pvp items with your honor you need 120 marks. But you can only have 100. So you buy a mount and then you have 60... Now you farm them up all to 100 again. The day after S4 Starts, you buy all your items, you ask GM to restore your marks... And now you actually had 140 marks at the start of S4

Short version:
1: Buy PvP mount
2: Farm marks back to 100
3: Buy all your items of honor in S4
4: Report ticket for mount
5: Get the 40 extra marks
6: Buy other stuff with those 40 extra marks (you grinded BEFORE the start of S4)

This is quite usefull, +Rep and keep up the contributing
