How my friend became a GM on a LIVE Server!

ok, 1. i know your server. 2. they're right, it's a mistake, i know someone else on this server who had that quest line reset, and wasn't left with a gm status. I can't beleive you're gonna use an accident and call it an exploit. just makes no sense, this is cool, just not an exploit.

Depending on how you look on it, it can be considered an exploit if it happens often and if you can (I guess the best word I can use right now is) "trick" the GMs into doing this by accident. Let's not get so technical with it, but it's worth keeping it in the exploit part of this forum.

lol, this has just happened to me, I am currently a gm on my server to, only I haven't gotten it changed yet. Same circumstance though on how I got it, I got the caster ring on accident to and they fixed it for me, only they left the gm tag on it. Going into BG's are really weird, you dont have to q, nobody can see you but you can kill people. your not really in the bg or listed on the players list for the bg... your just there. Also my character randomly chats things in the bg channel, giveing out orders for people to follow or talking shit...it's really weird.

This is a rare mistake from Gamemasters. I was leveling my druid some days ago, when i got into a fight with a mob with fear. He feared me, and i felt under the world, and died when i got far enough down.

I got pissed and i was not going to pay any repairbill, since it wasn't my fault, it was a terrainglitch. Anyways, i ticked a Gamemaster, after a while he got on, asked me some questions and confirmed that my corpse was unreachable, and asked me to logout so he could "fix" it. I did as he said, logged in a few minutes after, and i found myself ressurected at the graveyard and the Gamemaster whispered me if it was anything else i wanted help with.

My theory is that when i logged out, he/she logged in, gaved me access, and used a ressurect command to ressurect me, then he/she removed the tag, and then just waited for me to get online again so he could whisper me again.

How to make this happend again then? Simple, do whatever trick you want that requries them to log into your character, however, since they can apperently fix items and stuck-problems, i suggest you get feared under the world, or die in some unreachableplace and hope they forget to remove the tag when they are done, just a matter of luck.

Sorry for any spellingmistakes, but i'm tired and i don't really wanna check my message for any spelling or gramar-mistakes.

You Canot use gm powers even if u have gm rank because to use gm powers you have to use a different program of wow. My neighbor is a gm in irvine near the bliz headcourters. they send u a program in the mail that you have to install on your computer. this alaws you to access the gm power so even if you get gm rank you dont have program so u cant do anything

it wasnt a mistake gm had to do that in order to fix his problem i doubt they sent a memo to every server saying "hey dont make someone a gm overnight to fix their problem cuz one of our gms forgot to change him back"

It definately was a GM mistake and the odds that this will week sucseed to anyone are near zero. I have a guildie who had the same happen to him and also got the questline restored to him so I know for sure this isnt something you can use to become gm, the gm on your friend just ****ed up. Dont count on getting a gm like this

ive fallen through the world as a corpse before and they ressurected me while i was playing so i think it depends on the skill level of the gm

gms need an application that blizzard will mail to them in order to use the commands
