That's a common misconception. If a horde types lol then the alliance sees "kek," but if the alliance types "k e k" they don't get lol.

it is not getting anything from the server, it is only analyzing data which is already on your computer, meaning not illegal...(I don't think) but either way, it doesn't interact with WoW so you have nothing to worry about anyway...

    Re: Talk to any faction

you don't put it in the data folder, you just open the .exe and when a horde says something go back to that window that opens up (a cmd prompt type window)

    "
Data Stream Manipulation and Data Mining

Manipulation of the data stream involves a player altering the flow of information between the World of Warcraft servers and his/her computer while data mining involves a player extracting information from said information that is not intended to be public. Data stream manipulation can be the alteration of either the incoming information or the outgoing information, and can be as minor as the manipulation of one byte of a packet, or the "sniffing" of packets for any reason.
If a player is found to have altered the data stream or performed any data mining, he/she may:
    • Be temporarily suspended from the game
    • Have further action taken, up to and including account closure, based on the intent of the data manipulation "
      And
    • Repeatedly violating any area of the TOU, including the areas detailed above, will often result in temporary suspension from the game.
    • A violation of any of these categories could potentially overlap with another. In situations where this is the case, we will default to the most severe infraction and take action appropriate to that category.

if its reading the packets you're getting, thats mean the program attach itself to your wow.exe, also if its reading packest from your wow "warden will get you" and you will get banned.

Partially right, partially wrong. The program is reading the connection between your computer and the servers. It hooks up observing the chat, and is very hard to detect for warden. It does not hook up to WoW.exe, but only reads the connection.

A RL example would be: You passing a café and hearing a conversation between some people. If you go up to the people and start listening, they see you. But if you just walk by, not really showing any expressions to be listening, they won't know you are. - If you understand what I am trying to get at. The program just listens, it does not do anything more.

Imagine if you played WoW and launched a server on the game port, and BAM banned because Warden thought you were packed logging or sniffing. :P Thats why it is safe (for now) to use this.

Of course you never know, this is for learning purposes as stated in the source, I hope you guys also use it for the same purpose.
