What can and can't be done ? Illegal ?

- what are the things you can't do server side and can only be done client side?
UI modification, add menus, change models, add custom sounds etc... but is that all? only graphical/superficial edits ?

- "client editing is more illegal" is something I've read many times, but is it really?
I don't see any reason for it to be more illegal than making money with a private server.

- which things can't be done either client side and server side?
can you give few examples please?

What is and isn't legal depends on which country you come from.

Generally, the actual emulator servers are not illegal. This is because we do not touch Blizzard at all, it is 100% our own software written by us.

As soon as you extract data from the WoW client or touch it in any way, it becomes illegal. Running a WoW server requires you to extract DBC, maps, vmaps, etc. This makes it illegal.

In the same way client editing is illegal because you are then modifying the client.

One thing is not more illegal than another.
