This comment for some reason annoys the hell out of me. Sorry for "flaming" but seriously? Of course it would have less flaws if people contributed their bug fixes but that wouldn't mean it would be "perfectly" blizzlike. I am not sure if you have noticed but even an actively developed core like trinity does not have dozens of developers. You cannot expect a set time frame.
Wow... I don't understand, I don't know what exactly annoyed you. Is it my not-so-informed opinion or those leachers or both? But since there are hundreds of active PS available, I believe had every single one or most of them contributed back fairly, perfectly blizzlike is achievable in relatively short time frame.
Honestly I can hardly believe these WoW emulation projects drawn not much developers. Or maybe I am wrong, WoW emulation drawn plenty of developers but
most of them are just using community like trinitycore/mangos/etc as a stepping stone so they have a shot to be recruited by serious a PS server owner.
PS: I googled for "leech vs leach". I think leech is the correct verb.
Enlight me more.

It doesn't take a lot of skill to run a server. The servers I have worked for with over 1000 players have administrators who can't program. They get popular through powerful advertising or some feature/review that makes them stand out then stay popular through donations. They pay people stupid amounts of money to fix bugs, whether they are simple or complicated, and because they spent money getting that bug fixed and it makes them better than other servers in that sense, they won't contribute it back.
Sure, if all the big servers got together and spent their profits on hiring developers to fix emulators it could become rapidly better. But such a thing is never going to happen. It would be too hard to organise, different developers have different standards and expectations, and most servers want to keep their huge profits.
Sorry man, shouldn't had written like that.
I was just annoyed at the time of your post and wrongly triggered my "not so under control" temperament :-)
My main point is, that good developers do not hang on trees(I am not in anyway one of em) and yes, as Stoneharry told you, most people do not contribute back to the "public" source as there are way to much money in being the "less" bug free private server.
Being curious is almost never a bad thing

I don't have much but I can work harder and am more than happy to pay/donate to developers to get things fixed. But in that case I would prefer to donate to Trinitycore core developers because results of their work would benefit everybody. Competition wise I agree with Stoneharry, If one want to have competitive PS one should develop an interesting custom contents. Fixing original stuff toward blizzlikeness should be a collaborated effort, not a selfish errand.

I'd just like to say that I very much agree with your above post (to rule out any misunderstandings)
