    Possible idea (Put in in motion? <3)

    I had an idea for a private server. If you decide to go with my idea you have my 100% support and I will help you where required. Ready for my idea? Good!


    A. Revamp all 60/70 raids to level 80, making the end-game 40 mans BiS (not very original, but w/e).

    B. Devamp all 80/70 raids to 60, buff the 60 raids appropriately and make a server off that!

    What do you guys think? If you take this into motion I will help you with everything except a host.
    If you want my help then do not make it ArcEmu based. :P

    Good idea, Ive seen servers do something like this. I've always wanted to but I know nothing about scripting and all that.

    There would be 2 main methods for this:

    1. This method is easier for the average developer, however it does require a custom patch, in fact it could be done on a repack even. All you'd have to do is scale the stats (health, damage, mana, armor, all that crap) in the database to your liking. Then identify which spells are being called for and used, then simply change the damage in the spell.dbc. The only hiccups that will come along is the occasional spell that has a unique spell effect. This methods C++ is purely what's already in the core. This method also works on both Trinity and ArcEmu.

    2. Core editing side. Basically just spell-hack/fixing the spells, for the exact same effect as the dbc editing effect, but no client side patch. This requires more math and an understanding of C++. You would also still need to do the database side.

    Also as for ArcEmu vs Trinity. Using method 2, just go with Trinity... However using method 1, you have to decide in differences: Trinitycore has better boss scripts plus overall is just a better core. ArcEmu on the other hand is more flexible, if you feel like adjusting the boss scripts as well you can use the lua-engine and yet again can be done on repack.

    In saying all that... Don't use a repack.... If you are attempting this, you might as well learn to compile your own core anyway.

    I can change the requirement of a patch (: and ofcourse compile yer own core.
