Well I am planning to advertise extensively, I'm also planning on making it fun.

Okay, you know what, I'm going to make it 25x for XP and drops, there how about that?

So far, I'm going to let people donate for just about anything as well. Custom armor might be in as well.

Malls, yeah planning on doing that.

Don't quite know how I'm going to do custom quests, but that's in the works.

high rates, done everywhere. malls, done everywhere, player made custom armor for donations, done everywhere. and you don't even know how to make custom quests? oh and with all that in there, it is no longer a Blizzlike server. honestly. eveyrone out there is advertising, but to actually get some players you have to have some impressive features and you have to know what you are doing, about 1 out every 50 servers and projects ever make it live and get 100 players(rough estimate, most likely less server make it), and that's just 100 players. the ones that make it are run by an expirienced staff, and if you don't know how to even create quests, then you are obviously not ready. i'm not trying to be an *******, i'm just telling you how it is. I would suggest reading this to help you get started, it's a bit of a read, but it's worth it.

see the thing is creating something that isn't already around requires professional developers, can't say i can fund that right now, so let's stick with simple things that attract people to servers

There are almost none, if any, professional wow emulation developers, no one depends on wow emulation to feed themselves, pretty much everyone working on private servers and such projects do it because they like doing it, you just simply have to advertise that you are looking for developers. very few developers do it for the money, and the ones that do only do it because they just happened to find someone who pays, otherwise they would work for free

I'm sorry to double post, but thinking upon this thread it seems you don't know much about wow emulation and you just want to do what will make you the most popular, now i have nothing against that, but i just want to make sure you know, going into this that you shouldn't expect to make any profit at all and taking money from server donations is HEAVILY frowned upon, in fact it can get you in legal troubles with Blizzard like some people in the past have gotten into, and you don't want to get your ass sued by Blizzard, now i'm not accusing you of anything, you might just want to run a popular server and that's all, but i just want to make sure you know that.
