Hi all, really need help setting up my own server

then go to router and open ports
for both internal addresses,,

192.168.0.xxx comp1 internal
192.168.0.xxx comp2 internal

Char or Ishy, replace it with "logon". Allow Tree to help with the connection.

I have not setup this system, I just
know that it has 2 network adapters
to account for,,

so open ports on both adapter's

and a hosts file for both adapter's

1. make another network called server: address 192.168.0.200

2. rename network 1 to pc

3. open ports on both networks in router

ok,

this morning I started over.

I followed a guide on here and I got to the same point that I was at last night.

I then searched for realm looping and found a solution.

Then when i would login in it would show my characters but come up with 'Login Failed' after the loading screen.

I also could not create a new character.

I replaced the logon database by executing the sql file in the trunk/sql folder and I could login and create characters.

However there were no other npcs in the whole game.

The information in the sqls for logon were empty.

Now that i've backed them up, I now can't login again.

I've ran WhyDB but it only lets me import the world sqls and doesn't give me the option import my character or logon databases.


Do you guys know of any other way I could get a updated logon database into my navicat?

Finally I can now login to my warcraft server!

All NPCs work so far and characters are all working fine.

This is setup for lan only so it shouldn't be too hard to get it public.

I'd like to thank Kiev (+rep given) and treetree for their invaluable help and patience )

BTW the problem was a out of dat DB - I just downloaded a premium version of navicat, and then update the databses from the sql files found in /trunk/sql (or similar).

OMG im such an idiot, I tried to get it public and copied my configs as a backup.

I then edited the configs, tested, didn't work and then edited them again. But I clicked on my backups. So now i've messed up both sets. and world doesn't even work.

I'm now starting again LMAO
