Alright, My mate made a server and his database info is Localhost and password root how can he change it so I can connect?
I need a new sig..
First, he needs to create a user account so that you can connect to his database (http://www.navicat.com/manual/pdf_ma...Management.pdf). He also needs to make sure that when he configured his MySQL (assuming he has it installed on his computer) that he enabled remote connections. If he did not, he can enable this by going to: Start->All Programs->MySQL->MySQL <Version Number>->MySQL Server Instance Config Wizard.exe
Hope this helps![]()

As long as the Root user is assigned to % as the address you should be able to use it anywhere.
