^Pretty valid, and nice points in there.

I'd add 1 more thing to that, repacks.

Big part of people who use private servers use repacks, maybe they don't have the knowledge to do stuff on their own, too lazy, or just don't want to.

But theres clearly more repacks for aspire / arcemu than mangos, so all those users use them since they don't really have any choice, if they don't want to learn anything (in this, how to compile a server + set it up)

And btw, im _extremely_ happy that most ppl who use repacks use arcemu / aspire.. reasons? Well the poster above, last phrase.

[Question] You make the server.. and then what?

    - Lua.
    - It's easier(!!) to create funservers.
    - It's more user friendly.
    - Some of the GM commands make more sense(But who the hell really cares if u know how to work with the mangos ones?)
    - There's probably more scripts out there for Aspire/Arcemu, and since most of the people totally suck at c++, they just go with what already exists.

For the rest mangos is probably way beyond the point of Arcemu/Aspire(And better for experienced people.( Unless u want an extreme funserver with lots of bugs) and on top of that, it saves u all the emu drama too.

If you feel like having a Blizzlike server Mangos is the way. However if you wanna abandon most custom content (Which could include bug fixes so that the Blizzlike stuff actually worked as intended) and Lua (Which is by far my favourite scripting language <3) for that, be my guest ^^

Sorry but i havent found any custom content, which would fix blizzlike stuff to work as intented, only hackfixes which break more than fix

Even then MaNGOS would be a fine choice. At least if you're willing to spend some time working on it. (Which you will have to if you want it to be any good)

I'm not out on bashing Arcemu/Aspire in anyway because I do use Aspire myself, but seriously if you want to go public and you don't like all those crappy bugs etc, go with MaNGOS.
Not to mention those who know C++ will use it over Lua anyways.(I seriously dislike Lua, sorry.[Its good, and I use it when I really need to, but I don't like it])

I like Lua cause its a Light-weight language and doesn't need to compile, in order to work. And its so delightfull to work with :3

I am aware that people who can, would choose C++.

I am wondering if there is anybody who take a look at our website and see if he can remove that annoying animated banner and instead have us put some text on "how to connect to our servers". Would be a great help.

Edit: Nvm, I'll make a new topic about that, doubt anybody would even notice this post all the way down on the 2nd page ;p
