Realmlist Change Problem.

Im using Windows Vista. When I try to change my realmlist in my WoW Folder. I get this error when I try to save it

Cannot Create The C:// Program Files/ World Of Warcraft / Data / enUS / Realmlist.wtf

Make Sure that the path and the file name are correct

Then when I try saving it over the orginaial Realmlist I get the same error. Or sometime it'll say I dont have premissons, Witch I do idk wth its talkin about
Its pissing me off, How can I fix it ?

Have you opened the file as an administrator? If not, try that and if that doesn't work delete the file and make a new realmlist.wtf file.

I had to delete and remake.

Its because the file is selected to be Read only.. so you cant edit it til you unflag it to not be read only.. That was the issue ive seen with that at least.

You have to make your own and save it as Realmlist.wtf on the Desktop, then manually move it into the correct folder.

This ain't no ****ing Server. This is an Emulation Website and Forums where people talk about creating Servers, and create addons and releases for Private Servers.

also to change your realmlist.wtf on vista you need to rightclick on the realmlist.wtf file, click properties, click security tab, and click every one, and allow all

or you can run NOTEPAD as administrator (right click, run as admin) and go to file and open, then navigate to your file, this will allow you to save it as well :P

Yeah this works in most cases.

On some vista's they have like a security check so you can't actually change any document without turning it off. Its called UAC (User Account Control) to disable it go into control panel then on account and just click on a account and then at the bottom you will see Activate or Inactivate User Account Control (UAC). Then you probably have to restart your computer

UAC can also be helpful for your computer, encase some fag comes on your computer, they'll need a confirmation.

Thats true but it still asks for admin password for running programs that needs admin confirmation for example. But yeah its good to have UAC on unless you are going to change any text document.

alternitavly, you can just drag your realmlist to your desktop, change it then put it back in your enUS folder
