Guide for all n00b Questions

Hi! Im new here and ive been away from the emu-servers for long time, now im kinda boring of playing WoW and i decided to make my own WoW Test Server, not for public, only me and my family...

Now when i started to check for anwswers i found more questions, i dont want to make a hundred posts, so im posting here all my questions (maybe will help others).

Emu Questions:

Mangos or Acent? (The clasic)
I've been reading a lot of forums/posts/sites with many info about those two, and here is what i found.

Mangos: Old, problems, bugs, (seems nobody like it) even if all the private servers i checked are using Mangos, Mangos has support for WoTLK, Kinds of DBs, etc,etc,etc.

Ascent: Is dead, lots of forks, they say its good, its new, no bugs, etc, etc, etc.

I need some expert advice here, lots of that info i found its kinda outdated, i dont know if Mangos is better than Ascent, i think its a matter of choice, (chocolate or Vanilla).

Now, Talking about Ascent... Whats the newest/best fork? Arcemu?

Database:
Yes, i tried WhyDB, NCDB, UDDB, i had problems with some tutorials, they are made for Ascent and i was using Arcemu, almost worked, With Mangos went kinda smooth.

Whats the "best" DB?

Unified DB: from my perspective, its like Mangos, Old, "solid" they seems to know what are they doing, all the tables are separated. The tables structures looks good.

WhyDB: works with Ascent/Arcemu, they have progress with localized stuff, the way it works its kinda messy, Tables Structures are all mixed for Localized DBs, i mean, the data for German, French, Spanish its all in one column (languaje_code).

It was kinda easy to "import" localized data from WhyDB to UnifiedDB. Any idea how to get localized info for UnifiedDB?

I know there are other DB Projects, but i would like to use the BlizzLike DB.

Ok i found many interesting tutorials here and in other websites, how to add custom content, custom vendors, ports, etc, etc,etc... and always, they seems to b made for Ascent Emus (and they are lol), so i have to search a lot in my DB (im using Mangos ATM) to get something working.

I found some utils too, DB Managers, Item Creator/manager, etc, etc, they are all Windows executables, and i dont feel confident yet to run all that software on my PC.

I didnt want to ask the simple: "Whats better Ascent or MAngos" because i dont want answers like "Ascent, cuz it is" or "Mangos rulz 4ever"... I would like to know your opinion as you have far more experience than me.

Im sharing my opininon here, im not a lazyboy, i like to compile my own stuff even if i need to learn alot, i dont like prepacks, i like to learn, i even to the stuff twice, mac and pc.
