Nethercleft on Custom Items

Hi,
Is there any way to put nethercleft/cobra or golden/runic spellthread onto a custom item on a twink server?
I have adjusted all of them so a level 19 can use them, but there are no items that exist that you might want to use the patches on. For example, Scouting Trousers of the Monkey, on a private server are just Scouting Trousers.
If I try to use one on a custom item it just says 'I cannot put that on that item'.

You can't put it on custom items as they are "question marked" what I have understand, but other players should be able to do it in trade.

Make your custom items use itemid's of real items for the correct slots, that's the only way you can really make them enchantable, mager1794's suggestion doesn't work, and I don't believe you can use nethercleft/shoulder enchants through trade.

You can put on a custom item by modify the item level tab above 35, you don't need to use previous ids etc.
