[Guide] How to make an Ascent Server: The Noob way

Hey man, I'm having a small problem with connecting to my server. I followed the set-up instructions exactly as you said them. However I'll start up WoW, log in with an account, and it either lets me in for not even a second then disconnects me, or it just gives me an "Unable to Connect" message. Any ideas on how to fix this?

i did everything you said but when i do ascent.exe thing and logonserver.exe it doesnt work.

for logonserver.exe it just stops and closes

for ascent.exe it gives me a error message
SQL:Select of Database ascent failed due to 'Unknow Database ' Ascent '
SQL:Main databse initialization failed. Exiting.
Please hep me

its getting stuck on handshaking, then authenticating, then unable to connect.
on the second repack download Sp has, the ascent-realmserver.exe will attemp to run, but then say that access is denied to moocow@localhoast.
that is a default name that i cant find out how to change.
if i dont attempt to run this exe, it doesnt recognise that i have any accounts created with navicat. it would simply say i put in the wrong login information, when i didnt.
after i attempt to run the realmserver.exe, it gets stuck and cannot connect. but the realmserver.exe never fully activates, or at least never stays running. your guide doesnt say anything about it, and so im confused.

ive tryed re-installing everything, and redoing all the conf files, and they are all correct as far as i can tell. the logonserver and the world server both run fine.
so if there is anything i missed, or anything you can tell me that would be great.

Hello, this guide is aawesome! will +rep when i get everything to work
well, did all this 3 times now, tried with all repacks and everything, but when
i try to bring it public with hamachi, it wont work, my friends see the server
on their list and can connect, but when they log on their characters and
the blue bar is complete, it either freezes or they disconnect, did everything correctly. I got it to work with Mafiaboys repack on 2.3.0 version or something, but now it wont work!
Everyone is running on 2.3.3 patch,now 2.4 is released, but there is no repack yet. whats wrong? +rep+rep+rep if you help me out mate, ty for guide anyways!

Did you use the correct map extractor for your area?
Make sure you used ad_de.exe

Yes, you still need MySQL.

Make sure your realmlist.wtf file in your main WoW directory is set to localhost or your no-ip/ham ip

Check that your .conf files are correctly set and check your Navicat.

You will NEVER need to use ascent-realmserver.exe...
Only the two .exe's stated in the guide...

This is for 2.3 so I doubt it will work it 2.4 just yet.
So, my only suggestion is to wait a week or so, so the Ascent team can update their code

Hello

When i start up ascent-logonserver and ascent-world, ascent world don't want to authenticate with ascent-logonserver. Ascent-world only says: connection to <ip> Authenticating..... Timed out.

What shall i do ?

using your example of the first database's name "spdb" would the line of LogonDatabase Name in ascent-logonserver be "spdb"? and would the name for the databases in ascent-world be (using your suggestions) the first one "spdb" and the second one "char"?
