GUIDE - Ascent 2.3.x Server w/ Mafiaboy's Repack

OMG, i tried doing the server and i did ma acc. on navicat and the repack is good.
1st: i went in server and when i select a vendor to buy from i got DC, and everytime i do that iget DC. i need help with with.
2nd: i did my self an account, but how to do account for others. i tried to do it from in-game. it was done but when i logged in to it, it was without the expansion and i couldnt even get in world. and i want to know how to make other Admin and GM accounts.
3rd: i need help with anything wrong from the server, the prob. that others face. if anyone found anything that could help us all. jus say it here so we all could get help of it.

I think ive found a solution to D/c's at enter world, it must be because the server will only hold 2.3.0, it will disconnect you at anything above.

Will post after I repatch to prove this. :wave:

Fantastic guide. Works perfectly. No problems at all, and many thanks for the time you have given to set this guide up. But....

You need to change the title of this thread. There will be less problems and then of course less complaints if you do this. It needs to be changed so that it reads VERSION 2.3.0 - THIS WILL NOT WORK UNLESS YOUR WoW CLIENT IS VERSION 2.3.0

Ok. Best way is to reinstall WoW from your discs (if u have them). Then download the large (approx' 692m) file from World of Warcraft - Mirrors, Patches, Files and install. This patch will update u to 2.3.0. Remember, this repack will only work with this version.

If you dont have the discs, then u will be able to find what u need from this site or 100's of other sites like it.

REMEMBER...DO NOT LET THE AUTO UPDATER RUN WHEN YOU ARE FINISHED...

It works like standard WoW. The only real extras are the fact that you can get to a shopping mall and buy whatever you need or want...but of course u don't have to do that. It can also be removed.

Ok i got a error the logon server starts up fine and heres a screenshot of what happens when i start up ascent.exe hmm how do i put screen shots up on this? :S

well the error says "main database initalization failed, exiting" there many more lines that point as if there connected to the error, so if you could send me a pm with your msn that would be great mate

For the people who get "application error" with ascent.exe and/or logonserver.exe
Be sure you have .NET framework 2.0 installed on your PC. Should clear that issue.
