Are you using the launcher to start wow?
If so, use wow.exe directly.

No, I'm not. I deleted the battle.net.dll file and that seemed to do the trick.
But now I get this: unable to connect to realmlist server.
Sorry to be a pain, facerolling. Any ideas?
Going for a wash, will have a ponder in the bath, sorry for the wait.

Not at all. I'll go grab a coffee.

I'm currently looking at my realms config file, particularly:
<LogonServer Address = "127.0.0.1"
Port = "8093"
Name = "Default Logon"
RealmCount = "3">Do I need to alter this?<Realm1 Name = "My Realm Name"
Address = "internet-url-or-ip:8129"
Icon = "PVP"
Population = "1.0"
TimeZone = "2">
<Realm2 Name = "Private"
Address = "internal-ip-address-for-lan-access:8129"
Icon = "PVP"
Population = "1.0"
TimeZone = "1">
<Realm3 Name = "Localhost"
Address = "localhost:8129"
Icon = "PVP"
Population = "1.0"
TimeZone = "1">
Sorry, I took so long, I'm feeling a bit under the weather.
Originally, that's for if you want to make your server public, you can however change it to this and try :
Code:<LogonServer Address = "127.0.0.1" Port = "8093" Name = "Default Logon" RealmCount = "1">Delete the rest of the Realms in realm.confCode:<Realm1 Name = "Localhost" Address = "localhost:8129" Icon = "PVP" Population = "1.0" TimeZone = "2">
Hopefully that will work, although i'm skeptical. I've never really encountered this problem unfortunately, but we'll get you through it !![]()

Like a charm!
Thanks so very much for all your help. Also, you have nothing to apologize for. You take time out of your day to help out beginners like me, who otherwise would be totally stranded. I do greatly appreciate that you share your time and your knowledge with me. Hope you feel better soon!
edit: Ah crap, gotta spread the rep around.
Great job, feel free to ask about editing in your questions thread, i'll help out as much as possible![]()

Nice guide - works perfectly so far.
Have a problem with my Vmaps - I have two copies of wow (one in C: and one in D: ) and somehow your tool keeps on trying to grab the vmaps from my main wow folder in C:, which is my real wow (4.0.x).
Any way i can change this? The tool is placed in the right folder ofc. Would it matter if I got the vmaps from my newest wow folder?
I do realize it doesn't matter if I have vmaps or not, thats just collision, but would be great if I had em
Edit: Getting the vmaps from 4.0.x folder doesn't work. Guess I have to move the folders a bit around.

press windows key + r to bring up run (or search it on the start menu if you're on W7.)
Type in regedit and hit ok
Find the folder shown in the picture following that trail and rename the World of Warcraft folder to anything (I have renamed it twice as you can see)
The vmap tools will use their default position, and extract the vmaps hopefully.

Fixed it by swapping around the folders![]()
I can't seem to find the folders with that method under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE - may be cause I have my folders located differently? One on my desktop and one in D: which is a whole other hard disk drive.
Found one under the local user (the one on the desktop would be my guess) but I'm not entirely sure I understand your method.
Please try to explain as I would like to understand

Well, started with the error again and I tried your way but I can't seem to get it working :-(
Your link for the extraction tools is not working :/
Just tested, works fine.

Yeah I just found out my firewall was blocking it. When I run the extraction tools everything seems to go fine, but then I end up without a vmaps folder. Any ideas?
EDIT: Got that worked out now, but when I try to run arcemu-logonserver and arcemu-world i just get this error
Code:The application was unable to start correctly(oxc0000007b). Click OK to close the application.

I've never seen that one before, are you running on 64 bit?
Have you put the Arcemu Windows libraries into the folder?
Google isn't coming up with anything either i'm afraid.

I followed your guide step by step :/
I am running on 64 bit, would that do it?
