This DOES seem like an awesome guide but im having a problem: When ever i open the MacPack downloader, it just shows the little animation indicating that it is opening up... I wait ... nothing. I would greatly appreciate help on this so i can continue with the guide. Thanks! :wave::wave::wave:

I've been doing this for less than 24 hours now so, please be gentle on me...

Following these excellent directions, I was able to download and set up a WotLK server on my MacBook Pro just fine. Thanks to the OP for encapsulating all of this stuff so well.

There is, however, one minor issue: No loot. There was a sequence of errors when I ran arcemu-world to the effect of "Can't find table world.loot_*'. I think this is because ArcEMU was updated on december to add support for Milling but the Macpack hasn't been updated to support that.

Two changes were made to the SQL schema:

1 - '*loot' tables were renamed to 'loot_*'. The only exception to this is 'objectloot' which was renamed loot_gameobject

2 - A 'loot_milling' table was added to support Milling.

There is a SQL query I can link to but I don't have the post count required to post links yet, so just cut and paste that into your browser's address bar.

That query will do all the renames for you and create the new Milling table. It won't, however, populate the Milling table. I'm working on that and will report back here when I have something.

downloading everything now after spending nearly 7 damn hours trying to figure out how to get mangosx working. in the end I found that mangosx stuffed everything up and just needed to run two files, and after figuring all that out still couldnt connect or play the damn game!

I have hosted websites and mysql databases locally before but nothing for games so I am hoping this works.

The Question:
BTW, I have WOW and TBC. I dont have Lich King expansion, however my wow login window says 3.0.3, will I still be able to play burning crusade or will i need to buy lich king to use any of this???

The only thing that ive noticed is when I create a character, a duplicate one shows up in my character list, how do I make it only show 1.
also wats the code for a non GM? the GM is labelled az, so do I just leave this blank for non-gm?

Hey again all, ok this is great I now have 3.0.3 running on my mac, I did however notice a few weird things in the game, for instance, part of the map was missing, I cant go from azuremyst isle to kalimdor, the boat is missing. Is there an updated map I need to download?

I'm having a problem with the downloader, I download it click and wait, but then nothing happens. What should I do to resolve this problem? Is it possible that this version of MacPack does't work for Tiger?

Question about quests. Quest givers are giving all of the quests even though I don't have the correct requirements. for example, I created a Death Knight and the Lich King has 2 quests for me. He should only have 1 quest to give me at the start. Is there a way to correct this?

When I download the MacPack I do not have a MacPack folder, only an Arcemu folder. What do I do about this?

Same deal here. The link given by Fox only has Arcemu installed. Macpack doesn't get installed for some reason.
